SANDIE SALAS & KATELYN ALVAREZ: Hey guys welcome back to two girls and one mic with Sandie and Katelyn.
ALVAREZ: Now that the winter holidays are over, we have Valentine’s Day coming up. Which is our new topic. Originally Valentine’s Day is known to be spent with your spouse or partner.
SALAS: However In this case we’re going to be talking about Galentine’s Day, which is celebrated with your gals or girlies.
SALAS & ALVAREZ: Welcome to our second podcast, the Perfect Galentine’s Day!
SALAS: As we mentioned earlier, Galentine’s Day is all about spending time with your girlfriends instead of your spouse or partner. That doesn’t mean you have to cancel out your plans with your significant other—you’re still welcome to celebrate Valentine’s Day with them as you usually would.
ALVAREZ: But why not also spend some time with your girlfriends too? You can totally do both! Just a little reminder.
ALVAREZ: Ideally, as we see online, a lot of girls end up spending Galentine’s Day at someone’s house. You get to experience so many fun activities and create memorable moments together.
SALAS: Yeah, making memories at home definitely feels more ideal than just at a restaurant, at least for me.
ALVAREZ: Yeah honestly I would also want to do it at home too because at a restaurant, you’re focused on looking presentable and acting a certain way. And there’s just so much more freedom.
SALAS: Exactly! When you’re at a restaurant, you’re like restricted by time too. You maybe have at most an hour or two, but at someone’s house, you could stay there for so much longer doing activities, enjoying each other’s company. You just really make the most of it.
ALVAREZ: Honestly! And as you get older, you can turn it into a whole day thing maybe even like a sleepover! You can make memories that last all day, unlike at a restaurant, where it’s more of a quick dinner and you’re just done.
SALAS: Yeah and if it’s like the food that you’re craving like I would take it to go so I can just eat it at home with my friends and then enjoy it while also doing activities.
ALVAREZ: Yeah and speaking of food, I’ve noticed a fun trend lately. A lot of people are getting creative with their sweet treats cupcakes, cake pops, brownies, cookies homemade or store-bought, it’s all good. Don’t sleep on those sugar cookies from Stater Bros; oh my god they’re so bomb.
SALAS: Yes! Another trend I’ve seen is themed charcuterie boards. Some people do like all-pink boards, or like even a red-themed board would be cool, or just a simple classic mixed board with the cheese and meats. It’s really cute, and it’s a fun way to share food. Like me personally while I eat those I would wanna like watch a movie or something, binge watch a couple of episodes.
ALVAREZ: Yeah classics like “Lady and the Tramp” or “10 Things I Hate About You” are perfect for a Valentine’s Day vibe. It’s all about those cozy, happy moments! And if you’re not in the mood to be lazy, you can paint or color together. I’ve seen those activities where you paint your partner, but you can do that with your friends too. It’s a fun way to make memories and get creative.
SALAS: Yes I’ve seen even like something as simple as like a card games can lead to like awesome moments. Like uno, truth or dare, it all like could turn into something so fun, like a memory-making night.
ALVAREZ: Exactly! Another cool activity I’ve seen a lot online is scrapbooking and vision boards, like even on Pinterest . Since Valentine’s is in February, and the year is still fresh, you can use this time to map out your goals or make a themed Valentine’s Day vision board with your friends. It’s a great way to bond and plan for the future.
SALAS: And if you’re feeling more adventurous like me, I would wanna like bake together. Bake or cook together, it’s a win. I see many heart-shaped pizzas, chocolate-covered strawberries, and cake pops. It’s so much fun, and there’s a bonus you get to eat it afterwards and see- really test your cooking skills with your friends.
ALVAREZ: Actually! I’ve watched so many videos of friends baking heart-shaped cookies, and honestly, they just make me laugh. It’s like, who cares if the cookies are burnt or if they get messy? It’s the chaos and laughter that makes it so much fun.
SALAS: Yes, bro it reminds me of those Disney high-school movie moments when flour and sugar is everywhere, in your hair, on the floor and cookies might even end up burnt or undercooked. But that’s the best part. And now… looking back on it, Galentine’s Day is really all about the moments and memories we have together.
ALVAREZ & SALAS: Thank you so much for tuning in to today’s episode.
SALAS: Before we go, just a reminder to all the amazing gals out there—whether you’re celebrating Galentine’s Day or simply just embracing the love around you, take a moment to appreciate all the incredible women in your life.
ALVAREZ: Whether it’s your best friend, a sister, cousin or family—let them know how much they mean to you. Life’s sweeter when we have each other, and today, we celebrate that bond.
SALAS: Keep spreading kindness, stay connected, and remember: you are loved, you are worthy, and you are meant to be here.
ALVAREZ: Here’s to more laughter, memories, and moments that make our hearts full.
ALVAREZ & SALAS: Thanks for tuning in, this is 2 Girls and One Mic signing off, Happy Ggalentine’s Dday!
