KAEKOA CORONA: Hi, everyone. This is Koa, we’ve just arrived to Sake2Me Sushi. We just ordered our drinks. So I got a Sprite.
MELANIE BACILIO: Hi, I’m Melanie, and I also got a Sprite.
YADITZEL CARREON: And I’m Yadi, and I got a Coke.
CORONA: They just brought us the menus, so just looking at it they have a couple different rolls. They have the regular rolls, tempura rolls, the special rolls, and baked rolls. And now we’re just gonna order all of our food and do a review.
BACILIO: To try a little bit of everything, we tried to get one roll from each category. So from the regular roll, we got one Mexican roll. From the tempura roll, we got one Golden California. From the special roll we ended up getting a Las Vegas roll. From the baked rolls, we got one Sake2Me roll, and that was all.
CARREON: The gyoza have arrived and we got a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce. And I’m going to dip my gyoza in eel sauce first.
CORONA: That’s really good. Like really good.
CARREON: Hmm. The gyoza is really good, it’s fresh off the grill, it’s very crunchy and the eel sauce gives it a hint of sweetness.
BACILIO: Okay. That was really good. I think my favorite part was the crunch because it was really crunchy. I think the sauces really help a lot. So I think for me it’d be like a good 8 out 10.
CORONA: I actually really like it. This is my first time trying the gyoza so I really do recommend asking for eel sauce to try with it, I think it goes perfectly together and then I would give it, um, I would say a 9.5 out of 10, it was really good.
CARREON: Back to Yadi, I rated it a good 8.5 out 10. This is gyoza number two.
BACILIO: We’re gonna be trying the crunch roll next, it has shrimp tempura, crab meat and cucumber and there’s crunch on the outside, which is kind of like breadcrumbs.
CARREON: I’m so excited! This looks really good. It looks whimsical because there’s like crunch on top, and it’s kind of like a powder, but okay let’s go.
BACILIO: I don’t like getting the ends. I don’t like the shrimp tail.
CORONA: Let’s go.
CARREON: Imma dip mine in the eel sauce only.
CORONA: Mmmm, I really like that one!
BACILIO: Mhm I think I like that one more than the other one.
CORONA: Same
CARREON: No, I don’t think so.
CORONA: I really like the crunch or whatever this is.
CARREON: I think the crunch could be a little bit crunchier. No, like, actually.
CORONA: So for the crunch roll, I’m gonna have to give it uh I would say an 8.5 out of 10, it’s really good. I like the crunch. The tempura is really good.
BACILIO: I also think it’s an 8.5. I think I like that one better than the Mexican. I don’t really know what it has inside, but I just think it’s good, it’s yummy, and I like the crunch, it kinda adds a little bit to it.
CARREON: I kinda think this roll is basic compared to the first one we tried. So I’m gonna give it like a 6 out of 10. I feel like I can find this at the Smart & Final packaged sushi. But yeah, that’s my opinion.
CARREON: Okay, hi guys. So we’re going to be trying the golden California roll next. It comes with crab meat, avocado, and it’s entirely deep fried, and on the menu, it doesn’t look as crunchy as it looks in person. So, I’m excited to try this one out. Okay, so I’m gonna get my piece and not dip it on anything because there’s already condiments inside.
CORONA: Mmmm, I like this one a lot, the crunch is good.
CARREON: Mhm, I think the crunch is better on this one than the other one. But imma dip it in the crunch.
BACILIO: To me, it kinda just tasted the same but more crunchier, though but I like it.
CORONA: Hmm, but more crunchier.
BACILIO: Is this what you wanted when you said you wanted it more crunchy?
CARREON: Now that one’s the one I was looking for.
CORONA: So I would give the Golden California.
CARREON; Hmmm, a ten
CORONA: I would say like a 9 just because I feel like the inside doesn’t have too much flavor, but the outside is really good. I like the crunch.
BACILIO: I think I also give it a 9. I think the crunch kinda overpowered like everything on the inside, but I kinda also kind of like the crunch. So I think a 9 is like a good standing.
CARREON: I think I give this one a 10 out of 10, it’s the one I was looking for.
CARREON: Okay, so the Mexican sort of looks a little plain on the top, compared to the baked rolls, but we’re gonna test that out right now and rate it for you guys. I’m gonna dip mine in spicy mayo again.
CARREON: This one doesn’t have a crunch to it.
CORONA: Oooh, I really like the spicy crab meat. It’s good.
CARREON: Mine kinda fell apart right now.
BACILIO: Woah, I feel like this one is pretty good.
CARREON: Yeah, maybe I feel like I hate it a little bit, but it’s actually really good. My rice undid itself in my sauce. And I’m trying to fish for it.
BACILIO: Wait that one was actually pretty good.
CORONA: Um, I would give the Mexican roll probably like a 6.5 out of 10 just because I didn’t really like the Sriracha on the top, but it was really good, so yeah.
BACILIO: I think for me, it’s like a good seven. I think it’s like if you’re open to trying new things. It’s basic, but it’s really good, like actually.
CARREON: I liked it, to be honest, it was really good. I give it a 10.
CORONA: Okay, now we’re gonna be trying this Sake2Me roll. So, in the inside it’s gonna have spicy crab meat and cream cheese. And then on the outside it’s gonna have baked tilapia and jalapeño, so I’m not a big fan of jalapeño, but we can go ahead and try this.
CARREON: Now, this one looks spicy, there’s literally a whole jalapeño chopped onto- on top I mean.
BACILIO: I think we have to try it with the jalapeño.
CARREON:” Yeah, but on the next rolls we try, we’re gonna take off the jalapeño because it does look spicy. I’m having a hard time getting the piece. I already give this one point less because the roll is breaking down. Okay, cheers!
BACILIO: Mine kinda got destroyed.
CARREON: I think I give it a five out of ten just because it literally melted my chopsticks.
BACILIO: I think I give it like a six out of ten. It’s not that it was bad, it’s just like really messy, and I don’t think it’s like as good as the other ones.
CORONA: I’m gonna go ahead and give it a six just because I’m not a big fan of cream cheese. I don’t think so in this one, this is like more I would say, a warmer roll. Um, but the jalapeño was good. I thought it was gonna be a lot more spicier than it was, but I liked it.
BACILIO: So the last roll we are going to try is the Las Vegas Roll. It has- inside it has crab meat, avocado, and cucumber. On the outside, spicy tuna and fresh water eel.
CARREON: I’m sort of scared for the fresh fish because it looks thick, and I always get my rolls baked, so I’m a little scared. I don’t know if I am going to like it.
BACILIO: I think I’m going to take off the top.
CARREON: Umm you can’t do that. It looks really really fresh and it’s really squishy. Woah, I could see the scales.
BACILIO: I can’t see what I’m looking at.
CARREON: OMG Melanie. Hashtag I’m gonna bite them.
BACILIO: We’re gonna do 1, 2, 3
CORONA: I like raw fish, so this is going to be good.
CARREON: I don’t know how to feel.
CORONA: Melanie is making a weird face. I don’t think she likes the raw fish.
CARREON: Yeah the raw fish is umm.
BACILIO: Um, the top part is throwing me off. The inside is good
CARREON: It doesn’t even look like fish.
CORONA: Yeah, so it’s topped with raw fish, so I think maybe that’s why.
BACILIO: Spicy tuna and fresh eel.
CARREON: Fresh eel?
CORONA: I do like this better than the Sake2Me one. I would say I would give this one an 8/10 it’s really good I like it.
CARREON: This is eel and that’s eel sauce so it has to be good.
BACILIO: Um, I didn’t try the top part. I am kinda scared to try the top part. So, I kinda only ate the inside and the actual roll. But that itself is really good, but I think it was my least favorite out of all of them. So I think I’d give it like a five out of ten.
CARREON: Okay, um, I am sort of tasting the fish part little by little, and the top top part looks cooked, but the rest looks really pink. Oh, I don’t know if I like it, I don’t know what I am tasting, I’m kinda nervous, but so maybe like a four.
BACILIO: I think I am gonna give it, yeah, like a four. I said five, but it is like in my mouth, so I am giving it a four.
CORONA: Okay, so this is Koa once again, and I would just say my overall experience here at Sake2me was really fun, and it was, um, I really liked that I was able to try new foods and different types of rolls.Um, I would rate the experience at 9 out of 10. It’s actually not too busy. We came on a Wednesday in the middle of the day, around 3:00, so I thought it would be busier, but honestly, the waiters are good, they really helped us, and I would give it a good rating for them. Yeah, so I had a lot of fun. All the food was very yummy.
BACILIO: Um overall I think this is a nice little casual space to come eat with your friends. I think overall the experience is like a 9 out 10. Um, the customer service is really good. One of the waiters accidentally hit my Sprite, and he brought me a whole new can, so thank you, sir. Um, also I think the food, they didn’t take too long to bring it out, and like every now and then they’ll check up on us and ask us if we need anything, which I think is really good customer service. I’m a little bit scared for the tab, but other than that, I think this place is really good.
CARREON: Hey, it’s back to Yadi, and we’re almost done without food, but we still haven’t finished. I think that this place was really the move, it’s the spot for a late Saturday. Maybe a late weekend day to come with your family. The rolls are really fresh. Actually they took not that long, I’d say about 10 to 15 minutes for five rolls to come out. So, I think they’re really quick with them, and the waiters here always seem that they’re always in a good mood. It gives me motivation to be a better customer service person because they really are keeping in check with every single table. I give this whole experience a 9 out of 10, I really like this spot. It’s not too full and it’s somewhere where I can bring my dad because patience. Thank You!
