Meet your class presidents as they share their thoughts about their positions and plans for the 2025-26 school year.
We have an amazing group of students who were elected as class presidents for the 2025-2026 school year. They have many great ideas that they want to bring this school year including special events, improvements, and fun.
Our newly elected freshmen class president at Middle College High School for the year is Angel Nguyen. Nguyen talks a little about her past in leadership roles and her joys outside of the classroom.
“I like to sing and dance. On Tuesdays, I go to choir and on Saturdays, I go dance,” Nguyen said.
She also shares her previous leadership roles.
“No, this is my first time doing something like this.” Nguyen said.
Nguyen states how she felt and what her reaction was when she found out that she had won and what went through her mind.
“Only thought that my opponent would not like me and that if I won, I was worried that my opponent would dislike me for it,” Nguyen said. “Yeah, I thought my opponent would win because she seems more popular.”
Nguyen shares what her campaign message was and what it means to her and her involvement in school. She also talks about what her inspiration was for running for class president.
“I have a friend in ASB who asked me to join ASB and to do class president as well,” Nguyen said. “I didn’t have purpose to run for class president but I decided that I would like to step up in my game and try to be more involved with school.”
Nguyen talks about her goals for the year and what she hopes to accomplish this school year. She includes her hopes of having other students and ASB part of her creative brainstorming for events.
“Some of the main goals are to make ninth grade fun for everyone and to be able to bring more people together as a community,” Nguyen said.“I don’t have any at the moment, but I will send out a form for all freshmen to like, put their ideas down, if they have any for future events.”
She also spoke on collaborations she hopes to have.
“I’ll probably be working with other class presidents for this year and sometimes with ASB,” Nguyen said.
Nguyen was asked for her advice for any students that are thinking about running to be class president. She also shared some great advice for all the students.
“If you do run for class president, I believe most people will not like to realize that class president is even available. So I would take that opportunity to go against the least amount of people for your ninth grade year and you get to meet more upperclassmates,” Nguyen said. “The advice I would give is to be yourself, have fun and make some friends, focus on clubs and be committed to school stuff.”
The best way to contact Angel Nguyen is through her president’s Instagram account, @go.angelnguyen and any other social media or in person.
Sophomore class president Emiliano Morales, shares a little bit about himself and what he likes to do out of school. Additionally what his prior leadership preparation looks like.
“I’m a sophomore and I want to double major in aerospace engineering and physics. I have two dogs named Lily and Princess, and I enjoy going to the park with my brother on the weekends,” Morales said. “This is my first time being class president but I’m in my third year of ASB.”
Morales states how he felt when he got the news and what went through his head. Also how he felt about his chances before he knew he won.
“I was super excited and glad I put myself out there! I was excited because all my plans that I had envisioned for the sophomore class were going to happen so I saw it as an opportunity to shine and really make events for sophomores,” Morales said.
“I was a little nervous because you know who isn’t gonna be nervous? But I think I put in a lot of effort and I think a lot of people saw that,” Morales said.
Morales explains what inspired and pushed him to run for president and what he told students he would do if he won.
“What inspired me to run for class president was really because I felt sophomores weren’t being asked what they thought. Well at that time we were freshmen, but I felt that they just made events first, but without telling us and I wanted people to vote and I wanted people to like the events because what’s the point of making an event if you don’t like it, you know,” Morales said.
“I wanted them to feel that they were heard. So if they voted for me, then I was gonna, ensure that they have a say in the events that they want.”
Morales has many goals and improvements planned for the year including new activities that he hopes will improve the school spirit and bring the class of ‘28 together.
“Some of the main goals are to build up sophomore spirit, I want more hype. I also want to do a lot more events specifically for sophomores and I want to unite the sophomore class more,” Morales said. “Also definitely improve the quality of events, so I am working with the other sophomores in ASB because they were also really passionate about creating a change for the sophomore class.”
Morales gives out some very interesting advice for any students that would like to run or plan on running for president next year as well as all the students in Middle College.
“Mostly focus on their passion because some people focus on the decoration and everything, but really focus on your passion and I feel that will shine.” “Work hard, be passionate in what you do, and really just try your best in everything,” said Morales.
Morales adds that the best way to contact him with any ideas or concerns
“Social media, so Instagram, in person, or through other ASB members,” Morales said.
Junior class president Valeria Rendon shares her thoughts on what she feels has prepared her for the title she has earned and more about herself.
“A little about me is that I like making people laugh a lot, and I like hanging out with my friends. I like eating as well. Panda Express is my favorite. I recently started going to the gym, so I’m trying to lock in with that and then I also love romantic movies,” Rendon said. “This is my first time being class president, but I’ve been in ASB for two years now which has really prepared me for this role.”
Rendon tells us her thoughts about her win and what she went through during the campaign process.
“I was really proud of myself for sure for putting myself out there, it was nice to see my hard work pay off because I stayed after school every day working on my campaign posters and then the first thing I did was thank God,” Rendon said. “I was very shocked that I won, especially with the competition, there were a lot of good candidates and I felt like whoever won at the end of the day was going to be the best president, but it did shock me that I won.”
Rendon shared her two main reasons that inspired her for going up for class president.
“I’ll speak up for them and make sure the voices are heard, obviously and I would provide, like junior only events…The idea to be able to represent my class and make this year the best one,” Rendon said.
Rendon talks about her main goal and improvements that she has envisioned for years. She also shares some of her ideas for events she wants to bring to Middle College especially for the junior class.
“Some of my main goals for the school year for the juniors is make it as fun as possible and get involved in the events,” Rendon said. “[get] the juniors to be more involved in spirit week, the assembly games, and all the events that we host, like the dances.”
Rendon explains the events that she is currently involved in and working to bring this year.
“I’m currently working on a Clash Royale tournament with the sophomore class president Emiliano and then also a beach bonfire event…it’s kind of tricky to get approved because of safety reasons.” Rendon added.
Rendon gives some very moving advice for the students to remind themselves that they are doing great and we are all proud of them. As well as a tip and push for any student that is thinking about running next year.
“Start your campaign early for sure! … There’s going to be a moment where you doubt yourself and you’re like putting all this work in just to not win, but just be proud that you put yourself out there.”
“You only live once, make the most out of high school, participate, and have fun! … I know this is Middle College and you have to do your college work and all that, just have fun with it,” Rendon said. “It’s easy to chase academic validation but there’s so much more that in the world, so enjoy these years.”
“I always post on my junior year class president page on Instagram, so make sure you go follow that, it’s @valeriajuniorclassprez and for those who don’t have Instagram, they could come up to me…I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me and supported me and believed in me, and thank God,” Valeria said.
Senior class president Adriana Orozco shares what she enjoys doing and who she is. She also talks about how this is the start of her time in student leadership roles.
“A little about myself is that I’m the oldest sibling in my household and I have three siblings and I mostly just focus on school work but during my free time I like to journal, watch movies, and I like to hang out with my friends,” Orozco said. “It’s my first time being class president; I just joined ASB this year.”
Orozco describes how she felt when they announced she won and how she is thankful for the support she got. Another thing she explains is how she felt before knowing the results about her chances.
“When they announced it, I was so happy and I was just really excited and I really appreciate all the support that I got,” Orozco said.
Orozco was asked if she was surprised when she found out that she had won.
“Honestly yeah, I was worried that I wouldn’t win but I was surprised because I thought it was more like a 50/50.” Orozco said.
Orozco tells us her main inspirations were for being a class president and why she felt she could be a good suit for the job.
“Through my years here in Middle College, I feel I haven’t really been involved with the school and it’s a small school so there’s not really a lot of spirit here and I feel like I’m a pretty outgoing person so maybe I could help with that,” Orozco said.
Orozco gives details about her focuses and changes for the school year to help improve school spirit. She also shares her main goal for the school year.
“Focus more on activities that we could do here and bring more spirit to the school and have people’s voices heard,” Orozco said.“I want people actually participating in the activities that we have and the events.”
Orozco gives very important and helpful advice for people who are thinking of trying to be one of next year’s class presidents as well as the rest of the students.
“Really follow the rules because you can get easily disqualified and I just think you have to be fair and nice to your competitors… I would just say like you’re in high school now, start focusing on your work but make time for yourself and make time for your work, be balanced in life,” Orozco said.
The best way to reach Orozco she says is through her senior class president Instagram page which is @adri4seniors.
