Donald Trump: an icon for all the wrong reasons
How far is too far when it comes to the freedom of speech? A rational person would think that any politically correct person would be able to dictate the difference between being morally right and wrong. Now, think of what would happen if you put someone in power who happens to have no grasp of the fictional “line” between speaking in the right and not being able to shut up. Scary isn’t it? It’s reality; it’s what you and I are going through at this very moment in time. President Trump crossed this fictional line by letting his ego talk.
Whether you hate him or love him, you can’t argue he has an untouchable ego and an unsinkable sense of vanity. As our current P.O.T.U.S rebutted in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” on the subject of Megyn Kelly’s insults, “It’s very hard for them to attack me on looks, because I am so good looking.”No matter how good looking he think he may be, his self love will be part of his inevitable downfall.
Take the Charlottesville riots, probably the most significant event to take place in Virginia for the last five years, as a prime example of how ridiculous his sense of self is. This riot was a retaliation by the southern majority for the removal of famous confederate statues. These people dedicated their motives to Donald Trump being sworn into the presidency. These K.K.K. members, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists ran through the streets of this quaint town shouting “Heil, Trump!” and one bystander was lucky enough to capture it.

So what was the President’s response? Did he condemn the alt-right? Did he stand up for Heather Heyer, a woman who was tragically killed by an alt-right man who crashed his car into the opposing side of protesters? No, but not only did he not condemn the party who was marching for the prosecution of minorities, he praised them for “being good people who were being provoked by the alt-left’s threats of violence.”
Another key instance of his unfathomable vanity, is-surprisingly-the way he shows his “fondness” of women; whether that be his comments about their bodies, or his degrading objectifications. We can literally look to hundreds of testimonies, interviews, and even direct quotes to prove his actions. I’m not just talking about his “locker room talk” that was leaked or his 7th grade insults against female journalists, I’m talking about sexualising his former Presidential opponent, Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton. In a now deleted tweet, President Trump stated, “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America? #2016president.” Trust me, it gets worse. Take New York Times columnist Gail Collins, a pro-fem journalist who just so happened to critique his global agenda. She was personally victimized by Donald Trump when he sent her a signed copy of her column with her face circled and “The Face of a Dog!” written all over the remaining text.
The sad thing is that one day he’ll be the death to himself. Scratch that- the sad thing is how hard the maid is going to have to work to get the pungent smell of racism and female oppression out of the White House carpets.
