Jingle bells ringing, Christmas songs playing in stores, and the smell of hot chocolate in the air. With Christmas right around the corner, people tend to put up decorations all around their houses, but what if you’re broke like me? Well, here are some DIY budget-friendly ideas that you can use to decorate your home to feel more like Christmas.
Hanging snowflakes
Materials that will be needed
- Color paper (optional)
- String or yarn
- Scissors
- staple or tape
Directions:
The first step to making this decoration would be to get a squared piece of paper. Second, you will need to fold the piece of paper into a triangle and cut out the snowflake’s design to your liking. If you cut out a certain amount of paper the snowflake will turn out one way and if you cut it a different way it will turn out different. Third you will need to unfold it and check that the snowflake won’t tear and looks good. Fourth, you will repeat the process until you have a decent amount of snowflakes. Fifth you will get some string or yarn and start to staple or tape the snowflakes. Lastly, you will hang it and there you have it.
Paper wreath
Materials that will be needed
- Green paper
- Glue
- Bells
- Cardboard
- Scissors
Directions:
First, you get a piece of cardboard, cut out a circle, and then another circle for the outline. Second, you will get some green paper and cut some paper strips. Third, you will fold the strips and glue them. Fourth, you will glue two of the folded strips on the cardboard and begin to overlap them, keep going until they reach where you started. To finish it off, get a piece of ribbon, fold it into a bow, and glue a bell on it. Lastly, hang it.
Hanging Stars
