DAISY MATEO:My name is Daisy Mateo, and we’re here to do a Chili’s food review.
TORRES:So we just got in a couple minutes ago, and already I’m noticing that there’s a lot of people, especially for a Monday.
MATEO:Um, we ordered our drinks. I got a strawberry lemonade, and Daisy T. Got a regular lemonade.
TORRES:So right now we’re just trying out our drinks, looking at the menu. So I’m looking at the menu right now, and I’m really debating I’m going back and forth between the Cajun pasta and the Triple Dipper, but we’re kind of thinking of sharing food, so we’re not sure yet.
MATEO:I was thinking of getting a burger, but I’m pretty— I do want to try other varieties of food, so maybe we might go with the Triple Dipper.
TORRES:So we ended up going with the Triple Dipper, and we decided to go— our combinations are gonna be the mini cheeseburger sliders, the honey chipotle chicken fingers and the mozzarella sticks.
MATEO:We also ordered a skillet so we can eat it after our main meal. Right now we’re waiting for our food, and thankfully we were able to get a booth, so it’s not that loud around us.
TORRES:So the menu had a lot of options, so we’re kind of going back and forth. They seem to have really good portions. We were also looking around at the restaurant. Luckily we got sat in a booth.
MATEO:I really like the atmosphere of this place. They have kind of dim lights, so it gives it more of a diner style kind of place, which I really enjoy.
MATEO:So this is mine and Daisy’s first time coming here, so I have a feeling like I’m really gonna like the mozzarella sticks.
MATEO:Oh, I think I’m gonna like them too. I’ve heard a lot of good things about them. I’m pretty sure they’re pretty popular here, so hopefully they’re good.
TORRES:I’m really excited, especially for the cheese pull. I also really want to try the skillet because it looks really good.
MATEO:It kind of reminds me of the pizookie from BJ’s, but hopefully this one’s better. We’ll see. We just got our food and it looks really good.
TORRES:The food looks just like the menu, especially like how I’ve seen it online. I have seen this on TikTok a lot, or like Instagram, and I can already tell that, um, the crispers are drenched in sauce and the mozzarella sticks have a lot of cheese on them.
MATEO:Which one do you think you want to try first? Um, I feel like I want to try the sliders first.
TORRES:I’m really excited for the mozzarella sticks, but the sliders look really good too.
MATEO:Honestly, yeah, we can try that one.
TORRES:Okay, so I’ll take some. Okay. Okay, so we just tried the mini sliders and they’re actually really, really good. The meat is like really warm, it’s soft. You can tell they made it fresh.
MATEO:I really liked it. It seems to have like some sort of sauce, which I think was more like a ranch-like sauce, which was really good. It added a lot of flavor to it.
TORRES: Okay, so the sliders really hit it off. Now we’re gonna start off with the Honey Chipotle Crispers. Um, they’re just like, um, chicken fingers but like with sauce, and we’re really excited to try the honey chipotle.
MATEO:Okay, so we just tried the crispers and they were really good. They’re really crunchy. I really like the sauce that they coated them with. It was really— it’s really good. It’s not spicy, but it’s more like tangy. I really liked it.
TORRES:So they actually tasted really good. They exceeded our expectations. They also came with ranch, and it doesn’t really add much to it, but like, it tastes really good with it.
MATEO:Okay, so next we’re gonna be trying the mozzarella sticks, which I’m actually really excited for. I heard that Chili’s really has really good mozzarella sticks because of the cheese pull, so maybe we can get that.
TORRES:Okay, so I just finished trying the mozzarella sticks, and I think they’re good, but I expected a little more, maybe a little more cheese pull. But they’re overall, they were really good, and I really really want to try the other flavors. We just got the regular ones.
MATEO:Okay, so I really like the mozzarella sticks. I think they were pretty good. I haven’t really tried them from other places, so I feel like as a trying it for the first time, it was really good, but yeah,
TORRES:So right now we’re just waiting for our skillet as well because we did order it for it to come a little later. And we got a double chocolate chunk cookie skillet with, um, vanilla ice cream on top.
MATEO:Okay, so we just got the skillet and like first view it looks really good. I can like smell it and it tastes really good. The cookie seems really warm and the ice cream, it’s like they added big scoops of ice cream, so I’m excited for it.
TORRES:So it does look really good and really warm. It actually kind of gives like pizookie vibes from BJ’s.
MATEO:Okay, so we’re both gonna get a spoon each and just try it at the same time. Okay, so I really like the skillet It was really good. I felt like I was gonna like it just because I do like sweet treats, and honestly, I really liked it. The ice cream is really good. You can tell it’s like the good type of vanilla.
TORRES:So yeah, so it was really good, and the food overall was just—
MATEO:I liked it.
TORRES:It was really great. It was what we expected.
MATEO:Our experience was really great. I would definitely come back. I do want to try the other menu items, so for sure coming back again.
TORRES:It is a little far from home, but I feel I feel like it’s really worth it. Well, thank you for listening to our podcast.
