I also attended the Bernie Sanders rally at Valley High School and realized that our youth is getting more and more involved as time goes on. Even though our voting turnout may not reflect much of the youth, they are slowly increasing, which encourages me to inform more of my community to create greater change and increase representation. I am a founder of a non-profit organization called Civics For Kids (as Alejandro Prado mentioned ) in which we taught elementary and middle schools students about the basics of our government and importance of civil engagement. Throughout this experience, I saw the growth of the students as well as their parents. From this ; I have come to the conclusion that more programs like these for youngsters should be implemented in order to inform them early on to increase voting turnout.

It is very important for people to understand who they are voting for and what comes with the person they choose. There is a corporation at my old school where students would teach children about the basics of the government and why they should be civically engaged with it allowing them to elaborate about it with their friends and families.
