ALL: Hey Wizards!
ALEEMAH WALLI: I’m Aleemah
MELANIE PRADO: I’m Melanie
GISSELLE RODRIGUEZ: I’m Gisselle
WALLI: And today we will be discussing how freshmen feel about entering sophomore year while cooking delicious pasta.
RODRIGUEZ: We’re going to be using sea salt, black pepper, parsley flakes and olive oil.
WALLI: Next, we’re going to be using spinach, mushrooms and garlic.
PRADO: Finally, we’ll be using heavy whipping cream, bow pasta and tomato sauce.
RODRIGUEZ: Now, we put water to boil and we’re going to add oil.
PRADO: While Aleemah is cutting spinach, garlic and mushrooms, we’re going to be talking about what some freshmen said when we interviewed them.
RODRIGUEZ: One question that we asked them was, “How do you feel about becoming a sophomore next year? Jareni Torres, a freshman, said, “I feel excited because I know there are going to be more classes and I’m excited to learn”.
PRADO: Aleemah, how do you feel about becoming a freshman?
ALL: [Bursts into laughter]
WALLI: Becoming a freshman?
PRADO: I mean becoming a sophomore.
WALLI: I feel excited to make more memories with my friends, but I’m just worried about the amount of workload we’re going to get next year.
RODRIGUEZ: I feel like excited, but I’m also nervous about next level classes and stuff.
PRADO: I agree, I’m also excited, but it’s just like the workload I feel like it’s going to be more. Now we’re going to be pouring the pasta into the boiling water.
WALLI: So I minced the garlic, cut the mushrooms in half, cut them evenly and now we are just chopping up the spinach.
RODRIGUEZ: Now, we’re going to add the mushroom, garlic and spinach.
PRADO: Now let this saute for five minutes and mix around the pasta.
RODRIGUEZ: Another question that we asked is, “What’s something you’re looking forward to the most for sophomore year?”
PRADO: Kianna said, “I’m excited about being in ASB next year”.
RODRIGUEZ: Personally, I’m excited to hopefully get into patient care as my elective because that would open more doors for my major.
PRADO: I’m also excited for new opportunities that are coming in sophomore year.
WALLI: So now we added some olive oil to a pot and now we’re going to add our tomato sauce and our heavy whipping cream.
PRADO: Additionally, we also asked, “What study habits do you need to work on?”
RODRIGUEZ: Everyone’s responses had in common was that they need to procrastinate and attempt to change their study habits for the better.
PRADO: Now will drain the pasta.
WALLI: Now we will pour some of the pasta in with our vegetables.
RODRIGUEZ: And we’re going to repeat the process. Now we’re going to mix the pasta with our vegetables.
WALLI: We also added salt and pepper into our sauce.
PRADO: Now we’re going to put our tomato soup into our pasta. Another question we asked is, “How do you think your friendships will change over the next year?”
WALLI: Annabel said, “I hope my friendships will evolve together instead of separating.
PRADO: And the last question we asked is, “What’s something that makes you a little anxious about sophomore year?”
WALLI: Briana said, “I’m anxious about friendships with teachers and figuring out class schedules”. The last question we have is, “What advice would you give to the incoming freshmen?”
RODRIGUEZ: The advice I would give to the incoming freshmen is definitely do not procrastinate because that’s going to catch up to your grades and your mental health.
PRADO: Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself and your own grades.
WALLI: Definitely get enough sleep because when you don’t have enough sleep it’s hard to work and pay attention in class.
RODRIGUEZ: This is our final result, thank you for watching.
ALL: Bye!
